3rd Grade Happenings

It's hard to believe that we are in our second semester of school, but the 3rd grade students are off and running and ready to achieve success. We have begun implementing our new Reading curriculum and students have been learning to analyze and identify the central message of poems, as well as paintings. In Math, students are continuing to learn about multiplication and division, as well as area and perimeter. Students are also using their Independent Reading Logs to document when they read at home and at school. They have been reading various books about weather and taking AR tests. We have several students with 80 points in AR and are closing in on their goal of 100 points. It is very important that your student reads at least 20 minutes a night to improve on fluency, increase vocabulary, and improve comprehension.
