Week of March 6 and March 12-13, 2012

We will be using Great Leaps to increase our reading level throughout the week.

We will read current events from Web and other resources.

We will read an article on the release of the new IPad 3.

We will read Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
Students will identify the main idea of the story.  Use predictions to relate the events to the illustrations in the book.  Identify specific events in the story.  Use geography skills to locate and gain information about the location, the setting, where the story takes place or where the character wants to go.  Identify the sequence of events in literature.

We are learning about solar flares and their effects on earth.

We learned where Aruba and Curacao is located and how we can travel there by plane and ship.

We will begin reading Mr. Peabody's Apples, Banjo Granny, and Ride Like the Wind (a story about the Pony Express)

For March 12, and 13 I will be absent.

Students will work independently to increase reading vocabulary during reading class.  Mr. Halsey may have additional assignments for the students.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe well deserved Spring Break.
