Breathitt County Schools Update 11.19.20

11.19.20 annoucement

Hello. This is Phillip Watts from the Breathitt County Schools with a few important announcements.

I would like to thank all of the students, parents/guardians, caregivers, and staff for another great week.  We appreciate you, and we encourage everyone to keep working hard.

The Breathitt Board of Education voted to extend the Thanksgiving break to include all of next week.  There will be NO SCHOOL on November 23-27, 2020.  School-Based Virtual (Online) classes will resume on Monday, November 30, 2020.

In accordance with Governor Beshear’s order that all schools cease in-person instruction, all Breathitt County Schools (elementary and middle/high) will utilize School-Based Virtual (Online) Instruction through December 7.  At that time, the decision to transition back to our blended learning model for ONLY elementary schools will depend on our status based on the Kentucky Department of Public Health metrics.  Also in accordance with the Governor’s order, Breathitt High School (grades 7-12) will remain on School-Based Virtual (Online) Instruction through January 4.  It is very important that all students participate in each class every day online.  If you have any questions, please contact your child’s school.

Please continue to follow us on our website and social media pages for the latest updates. If you have any questions, please call the helpline at (606) 693-4908 to leave a message.

Stay safe, practice good social distancing, and have a great evening.  Mask up, Breathitt County Schools!  Happy Thanksgiving!
