Special Education
Welcome
The Breathitt County School’s Department of Special Education, advocates for a continuum of special education services and placement considerations for all students with disabilities. We provide educational services to students with varying disabilities between the ages of 3 and 21.
The vision for the Breathitt County Department of Special Education is to prepare each child to contribute to their communities in meaningful and positive ways, by providing specialized instruction that allows for individual differences and various learning styles while developing independence.
The mission of the Special Education Staff at Breathitt County Schools is to educate students in appropriate learning environments through specially designed instruction so the students will successfully demonstrate their fullest potential as well as the knowledge and skills essential for life-long learning, social well-being and responsible behaviors.
