Breathitt Middle School Football Team

(October 18, 2020) –  Attention Students, Parents/Caregivers, and Community Members:

The Breathitt Middle School Football team played Johnson Central on Thursday, October 15, 2020.  The Breathitt County Health Department has confirmed that one of Johnson Central’s players has tested positive for COVID-19.  After discussion with the health department and school officials, the middle school football team has been placed under quarantine.  This decision, though difficult, is necessary in order to continue to put the health and safety of our students first.

All relevant information has been provided to the health department to assist in the contact tracing process.  Please be aware the Breathitt County Health Department and Breathitt County Schools will contact student athletes and parents.

Also, we would like to remind everyone to practice social distancing and to wear a mask in public.  We also ask that everyone continues to be understanding during this pandemic.  Over the next few weeks, we may be forced to make additional decisions regarding school and extracurricular activities.  Please remember that any decisions made must put the safety of our students first.  We appreciate your continued support and cooperation.

Thank you,

Phillip Watts
