Monday: 
Discuss main idea and details.
Background Informaiton/Prior Learning -Discuss the Stone Age 
Vocabulary words -  Activity with vocabulary words - meanings and meaningful sentences.
Making Generalizations
Subject and object pronouns
Assignment: Pages 47-50
MODIFICATIONS: Reading selections will be read aloud, and answers will be recorded on overhead (as deemed necessary).
EXTENSIONS: Students will incorporate main idea and details into their discussions.
Individual reading time

Tuesday:
Continue discussing main idea and details.
Read “The Stone Age News” as whole group activity. (Page 262)
Students will answer review questions.
Assignment: Pages  MODIFICATIONS: Reading selections will be read aloud, and answers will be recorded on overhead (as deemed necessary).


Wednesday:
Continue discussing main idea and details.
Review correct answers for review questions.
Phonological awareness/building vocabulary/improving comprehension activity.
Assignment: complete Practice Book activities pages 47-50 and review.
MODIFICATIONS: Reading selections will be read aloud, and answers will be discussed
Thursday:
Continue discussing main idea and details.
Discuss reference sources.

MODIFICATIONS: Reading selections will be read aloud, and answers will be discussed as appropriate.
EXTENSIONS: Discussin main idea and inferences will be elaborated upon by incorporating a variety of texts.

Friday:
Continue discussing main idea and supporting details.
Students will take the reading test on The Stone Age News.
MODIFICATIONS: Accommodations will be made for students with readers and/or scribes.
EXTENSIONS: Study Island (time permitting)
