Sebastian Middle School’s own Savannah Baker served as Breathitt County’s Legislative Page on March 2, at the Kentucky State Capitol. Miss Baker is an 8th grade student and was chosen to serves as Page, based on her application which included an essay and photo/poster discussing the importance of the Family Resource and Youth Service Centers. Miss Baker not only represented her school and district, but was among other students from Region 8 who were chosen.
Miss Baker and her family enjoyed a day in Frankfort, beginning with a tour of the capitol. While on the tour, Savannah and her family ran into Governor Matt Bevin. After lunch with government leaders in the Annex cafeteria, Savannah was assigned to serve as page in the Kentucky Senate with State Senator Brandon Smith.
Sebastian Middle School staff and students are proud of Savannah and the way she represented her school, county and region.
